Solar Ready Vets Continues To Make Great Progress In 2017

The solar energy job sector has experienced immense growth over the past few years. In fact, according to The Solar Foundation’s National Solar Job Census 2016, the solar industry has increased by 51,000 workers in 2016 alone. In order to fill the high demand for jobs within this growing industry, the Solar Ready Vets program has worked to educate and train veterans while also helping them gain exposure to solar energy employers.

In January 2017, the Solar Ready Vets program celebrated two graduations. On January 13, training provider Rowan County Burlington College hosted a graduation for eleven graduates from Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst. On January 27, training provider Northwest Florida State College celebrated their own eight graduates from Eglin Air Force Base. Both events were preceded by a full day of interviews with numerous prospective solar employers.
