Solar Ready Vets Reaches Milestone

This month the Solar Ready Vets program reached full participation with programs now launched at 10 out of 10 cohorts across the country! This milestone means the expansion of practical training for transitioning service members, which aims to help veterans enter the emerging solar energy market by training and connecting them with solar employers.

The final cohort at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey launches this week on December 8th and will host a solar employer information session at Rowan College in Pemberton. Events like this one engage solar partner organizations looking to hire veterans.

Additionally, SRV will host four upcoming interview sessions in Texas, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Florida. The employer interview sessions are scheduled for the end of each Solar Ready Vets cohort, and are opportunities for all students to interview with several solar employers. This typically includes both large national solar companies, as well as several smaller companies local to the area around the military installation.

Operation Free is excited to partner with the Solar Ready Vets team to work towards a clean energy future, through the final days of 2016, and beyond! For more updates, be sure to follow Solar Ready Vets on LinkedIn and Twitter.
