Washington, D.C. – In response to the Partnership for a Secure America’s call to fight climate change, Operation Free spokesman Brandon Fureigh said:

“The stature of the bipartisan leaders speaking out through the Partnership for America’s Security gives increasing weight to the notion that climate change represents a serious threat to America’s national security.

Operation Free joins them in that belief. We need to fight climate change and reduce our dependence on oil by increasing our investment in clean energy – we should push to get at least 50 percent of our energy from clean energy sources by 2030 – and investing in innovative technologies that will keep America safe and provide the manufacturing jobs our middle class needs.”

Operation Free, a campaign of the Truman Project and Center for National Policy, is a nationwide coalition of veterans and national security experts fighting to secure America with clean energy.
